Founder & President, QT

I didn’t set out to
start a software company.

I spent years inside the hardscape industry and kept running into the same problem.

Built from the contractor side of the industry.

From contractor to founder

This came from the work.

I own and operate NH Hardscapes. I’ve spent years estimating projects, ordering material, dealing with suppliers, checking inventory, getting contractor pricing, coordinating deliveries, and trying to keep jobs moving.

I started my first landscaping business by knocking on homeowners’ doors. Years later, the same mindset led me to QT.

The work behind QT

Real jobs. Real equipment.
Real years.

Where it started

Where it started — one truck, one mower.
First riding mower and the Briffett's trailer.
Keeping the equipment running, one repair at a time.

Briffett's Landscaping

Material in, machines working.
Skid steer loaded and headed to the next job.
Hauling and staging equipment.
Winter work — plowing through New Hampshire storms.

NH Hardscapes

The NH Hardscapes fleet on the road.
Trucks rolling in for the day's work.
The full NH Hardscapes lineup.
Specialty equipment on the job.

The problem I kept seeing

The same questions,
all day long.

I’ve stood at the dealer counter. I’ve made the calls myself — and I watched the people behind that counter answer them over and over for contractor after contractor.

  • Do you have this in stock?
  • What’s my price?
  • Can you get this order together?
  • Is my material ready?

Dealers have great relationships with their contractors, great products, experienced salespeople, and years of knowledge. But too much valuable time still goes to repetitive questions and manual order entry.

And contractors don’t work only from 7:00 to 4:00. We’re estimating at night, planning jobs on weekends, and figuring out tomorrow’s material after the dealership has already closed.

Why I built QT

A better connection.

“A dealership shouldn’t stop doing business just because the doors close.”

QT gives dealers a way to put their products, approved contractor pricing, inventory, ordering, and order-status information directly into the hands of their contractors — while the dealer stays in control of all of it.

A message from the founder

I don’t accept “that’s just how it’s done.”

I’ve spent most of my life building things. When I see a problem, I have a hard time accepting that “this is just how it’s done.” I want to understand it, build a solution, test it, adjust it, and keep going until it works.

QT is the result of years spent inside this industry, and I’m building it alongside the dealers and contractors who use it.
